Setup & hardware
Calveye works with most IP cameras that broadcast a standard RTSP stream. Popular brands like Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink, and Axis are supported out of the box. During setup, Calveye scans your local network automatically and lists any compatible cameras it finds.
Yes, the monitoring engine runs on your farm PC around the clock. Most farmers leave it on throughout calving season. As long as the PC is running and connected to your camera network, Calveye keeps watching.
Windows 10 or later, 8 GB RAM, and a modern quad-core CPU. A dedicated GPU is not required, though one helps if you run many cameras simultaneously.
There is no hard limit, it depends on your PC's processing power. A typical farm PC handles 4–8 camera streams comfortably; more powerful hardware can support more.
Yes. Open the desktop app, go to Cameras, and add a camera manually by entering its RTSP stream address. You will find this address in your camera's settings menu.
Detection & accuracy
Yes. Calveye is trained on real barn footage including infrared and low-light conditions, so it performs reliably with standard IR night-vision cameras — the kind most farms already use.
Typically within a few seconds of detection. The monitoring engine analyses frames continuously; once it is confident that calving is underway, the alert — including a snapshot — is sent to all linked phones immediately.
If the PC loses power or internet, monitoring pauses. Any detections already made are queued and delivered once the connection is restored. We recommend a stable connection on the farm PC, especially during calving season.
Notifications & mobile
Yes. Any phone signed in to the same farm account will receive alerts simultaneously. There is no cap on the number of linked devices.
Yes. The Calveye mobile app is available on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).
Yes. The app shows a full detection history grouped by day, with the snapshot from each event. You can scroll back through the calving season at any time.
Yes. You can configure quiet hours in account settings. Notifications are suppressed during those hours, but detections are still logged in full — nothing is missed.
Privacy & data
No. The AI model runs entirely on your farm PC and analyses video locally. Raw footage never leaves your network. Only the detection result and a small snapshot are sent to our servers so your phone can be notified.
Detection events and snapshots are stored securely on the cloud. Only you and the people you have added to your farm account can access them. We do not share your data with third parties.
